Wayne Gretzky is a Canadian hockey player who is one of the best players to ever play the game. He was born on January 26, 1961. Wayne grew up in Brantford Ontario. One of Wayne Gretzky’s nicknames was “The Great One.”
Wayne’s Career
Wayne Gretzky started to play hockey at 6 years old. His number in the NHL was 99 and no one has worn it since he retired. He started his career in 1979 and retired in 1999. He won many awards over his 20 year career like the Sportsmen of the year and the Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year. He also won 4 Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers.

Hands down, Wayne Gretzky is one of my favourite hockey players. I also like Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe (Mr. Hockey), Steven Stamkos, Sidney Crosby, Pavel Bure and Pavel Datsyuk.
