On Tuesday, February 2, 2016, our class went on a field trip to Racing Against Drugs which was hosted at RMC. It was so fun there! There were different stations, and at each station we learned about things that will help us to make good decisions for our lives. Click the tile of this post or the "read more" link to find out about what we learned. |
At Station 3 we learned about Fire Safety. Did you know that you should never try to put out a grease fire with water as it will explode?!?! At another station we leaned about what it would be like in jail. You have to be searched COMPLETELY, and if you went to the bathroom there would be no privacy! |
At one of the stations, we had to try to shoot a basket after we put on glasses that made you see things as if you were drunk. Nobody even scored a basket! An another station, we had to wear the goggles and try to walk on a line and touch a pen with our finger. It was tough, and it showed us that if a person is drunk, their vision and reflexes are not very good. |
We learned about bullying and got some wrist bands. It was a nice station. We also got to see pigs lungs. The lady there put the pigs lungs on a tube then pumped air into them to show us how lungs work. Then she got another pair of lungs that were black, and they couldn't work properly. This showed us what human lungs look like when a person smokes daily. |
