Interesting Facts - People also call Coral Reefs underwater cities. Sharks can only get in the Coral Reef at high tide. | The Coral Reef: Location - Coral Reefs are located in the ocean. The biggest Coral Reef is located in Australia. They can only be in shallow water. Climate: Temperatures range from 28 - 32 degrees Celcius. It is almost always warm there. Types of Animals/Plants - Fish, sharks, dolphins, snakes, sea turtles, squids, octopus, coral, algae, sea grass, and so much more! Characteristics - Coral Reefs are very colourful. They are full of life and very rocky. |
Deserts Location - The desert is located usually by the equator, and places like Egypt, Texas, and California. Climate - It is usually really hot in the desert, with temperatures between 25 and 45 degrees Celcius. But it does get really cold at night. Plants and Animals - There are cactus, poison frogs, camels, lizards, lamas and snakes in the desert. Landscape - The desert is dry and has a lot of sand dunes. |
Grasslands Location - Russia, Asia, South America, North America, South America Plants - Grass, trees, flowers, and other crops that people plant. Climate - Grasslands are temperate. This means that it can be extremely cold, or very hot. It is mostly warm so that grass can grow well. Animals - There are lions, and tigers, and bears (Oh My!). There are also hawks, cheetas, hippos, rhinos, zebra and buffalo. Landscape - Mostly flat with slight hills. There are a few mountains in the prairies. There are lots of holes. |
