Today constable B. came into our class today to talk to us about V.I.P. The topic she discussed was about peer pressure. Peer pressure is a either a friend, a family member or a person around your age who pressures you into doing something that you don't want to do. Example, your friend comes up to you and asks "hey why don't you take some drugs, we are all doing it why aren't you?". To get out of the situation you can say "no I have had some and they are nasty" or you can simply say "I don't want to" and walk away.
Now you are probably thinking that there is only one kind of peer pressure which is negative, but really there are two kinds of peer pressure. There is negative and there is positive. Positive peer pressure is like when your friend asks you to join the basketball team and you're like, "no I don't want to," and he's all like, "yes you would be great at it".
Peer pressure is all around us. We need to recognize the signs of it and we need to be aware when it is happening to us or others. I can't wait to here what constable B. has to say next
Have you ever been peer pressured?
