Prey and Predators
Parrots are such beautiful creatures, so why would anything want to eat such a beautiful bird? Many mammals, snakes and even other birds eat parrots. Some of these snakes and birds include hawks, owls, eagles, python and boa constrictors. Monkeys also eat parrots. Although they only eat baby parrots and the eggs. This is only if they can find them. All of these animals have different ways to catch and eat parrots. Most birds attack parrots while they are flying or resting. Although, the black eagle attacks parrots when they are in there own nest. Snakes attack parrots while they are standing on tree branches. Parrots are much different, they don’t eat other animals. They eat many different varties of nuts, seeds and fruit.
HOW DO PARROTS TALK?
Most people know that parrots are the only animals that can talk. But not many people know why. Parrots don’t actually talk. They mimick and repeat what they hear other people say. They don’t actually understand what they are saying. Parrots talk by expelling air across their mouth. The parrot makes different sounds by changing the depth and shape of the tachea. Basicly, parrots are just whistling in different vibrations.
Where Do Parrots Live?
Parrots mostly live in the rainforest. South America, New Zealand and Australia have the greatest amount of parrots.
