Dear Staff,
This note is meant to notify you of a huge problem! This problem is that the school has been wasting excessive amounts of paper and polluting the environment.
This issue was first brought to our attention when we were helping the custodian with recycling. The bag spilled out paper and while we were cleaning it up we found about 3-5 lesson plans! May we just say that each and every sheet of paper had no writing on it at all! We also found a whole entire 80 paged notebook and only half of the first page was used! We know that you may be thinking that it is no big deal because it is all going to the recycling, but it is.
It is a big deal because the energy from waste plant pollutes the air. This is one of the reasons for global warming! Global warming affects many animals such as polar bears! global warming is causing winters to start later than usual and end earlier than usual which creates shorter hunting seasons for the bears and this makes them starve, and in severe cases starve to death! Polar bears can also be taken in by a zoo at this point which is cruel because they can not develop all of the skills that regular polar bears need to survive! So if the zoo decides to release it back into the wild it will do nothing but die in most cases. Maybe you don't really care about animals that much.
If you don't care about the death of polar bears and many other animals, then listen to this: One day, when all of the animals are gone, pollution will attack humans and we will become the victims. There will be nobody to help save us or be concerned for us. The airs will be much polluted and maybe even more just than the air. It is not a known fact that I know, but only our opinion: Those who pollute the air are more likely to pollute the world in other ways than someone who tries to avoid wasting paper or pollution. Even if you don't purposefully try to pollute you could still be doing it. So all that we are asking you to do is be more careful with how many copies you make and so on. There are many ways you can do this.
A couple of ways that you can save on paper are:
Use a smart board to read articles or notes as a class.
Use text books for homework instead of photo copying the page multiple times.
So do yourself and everyone else a favour by letting them know and trying these techniques and come up with more. So don't just sit there! Get up and go save the Earth!
Sincerely,
Rachael and Matthew.
